Biggert-Waters Flood Insurance Reform & Modernization Act of 2012

On July 6, 2012, President Obama signed into law the “Biggert-Waters Flood Insurance Reform Act of 2012,” which reauthorizes and reforms the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) for five years through September 30, 2017. The Mississippi Association of Supervisors (MAS) has a history of supporting higher education through the awarding of scholarships to Mississippi community and junior college scholarships. The program has been alive for over 10 years and was recently revamped with an increased donation that will allow even more students to reap the benefits and further their educations.

The standards and process recommended by the MAS Nominating Committee and approved by the MAS Board of Directors for members seeking to run for  office or a committee position within the Mississippi Association of Supervisors can be found here.

A topic presented at the MAS October Educational Conference  concerned IRS regulations pertaining to automobile use by county employees and county officials.
