Memorandum
Pursuant to Mississippi Code Ann. 77-13-31, the Underground Facilities Damage Prevention Board has declared its intent to consider the adoption of rules under its authority. In addition, pursuant to Mississippi Code Ann. 77-13-29 (subsection (L)), a Mississippi Association of Supervisors (MAS) representative is appointed to the Underground Facilities Damage Prevention Board.
Mr. Brooks Miller is the appointed representative for the Mississippi Association of Supervisors. Mr. Miller is a former State Aid Engineer and currently serves as MAS’s Risk Management Specialist. Mr. Miller has extensive knowledge and years of experience as it relates to engineering and underground utilities.
Mr. Miller has worked hard on the board to get feasible language that clearly describes what shall be routine maintenance activities. We need counties to submit comments that would support the current routine maintenance language.
