MAS joins with NACo in sharing our support for the families and communities affected by the recent tragedies.
“Please pray for safety, peace, unity and love throughout our state and our nation,” says MAS President Connie Rockco (Harrison). “John Donne once said ‘No man is an island, entire of itself; every man is a piece of the continent…any man’s death diminishes me, because I am involved in mankind; and therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls; it tolls for thee.’”

WASHINGTON – The National Association of Counties (NACo) today issued the following statement in response to law enforcement officials being killed and wounded in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. NACo Executive Director Matthew Chase said:
“The communities of Baton Rouge and East Baton Rouge Parish are in our hearts, especially the families of those killed and the wounded law enforcement officials. We offer our prayers as the nation mourns yet another tragedy.
“Parishes, counties and boroughs stand steadfast behind all those who put their lives on the line every day to make our neighborhoods safer.
“In these difficult times, we must focus on what unites us and come together in civil discourse to address the serious challenges we face.
